apparently i suck at advocacy

who knew? this class makes me not want to try and i don't even speak the same language as the prof. i'm so not about business acronyms and buzz-words (S.M.A.R.T. objectives! [specific, measurable, action-oriented, responsibilities stated, timed] keep your presentations B.A.S.I.C.!!! [brief, appreciative, specific, informative, courteous]) so sue me that i think the acrostic is the lowest form of poetry. so sue me that i don't think ANYONE IN THE FREE WORLD ACTUALLY uses those terms. those words are like the "dirty sanchez" or "hot carl" of the business world (to the uninitiated, urban dictionary that shiz, but DO NOT - I REPEAT, DO NOT - google it). everyone knows what they're SUPPOSED to mean, but no one actually DOES it in the reality that you and i occupy. anyway, i got a B+ on my S.M.A.R.T. objectives assignment. i take it as a compliment. because in the REAL hierarchy, a B+ means that i know enough to punch myself out if i ever actually became proficient with S.M.A.R.T. and trust me, mom, i do! you gone done good, ma!

i'm so busy right now that i want to cry hot, salty tears of productivity. unfortunately, all i can squeeze out is a trickle of wasted potential. to that end, today's post will be brief. suffice it to say that the thought of traipsing around rome and florence with my two bffffffs is helping me along considerably. that, and the knowledge that - as next week is reading week - i'm at the halfway point! only around 6 more weeks and i'm DONE! my work is clearly suffering, but at this point, i care not!

we've ironed out our plans for the trip, and we're booking flights, hostels, and trains in the next week. we're spending 2 and a half days in rome, and 8 and a half days in florence, with a day trip to siena or pisa in the works. !!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm going to try to basically bring an empty suitcase so i can smuggle back lardo and proscuitto and balsamic and truffles and tripe sandwiches. unf unf unf!

tomorrow is a long day...i'm packing the last of the grain soup and an egg salad sandwich in a pita with fruit.

fin.

screw Rome! Venice is where it's at!

Ok, Rome was also cool...but can't you squeeze in Venice too???

We stayed at the best hostel in Florence, for real, if you need a name.
